About Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology

Prof. Raj Senani founded Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology; he obtained Bsc Engineering in Electrical and M.E. from HBIT, Kanpur. NSIT is located at Dwarka that is in southwest Delhi. It is well connected to all the prime areas by Metro and all the major bus stands. It is ranked, as the 2nd best engineering college in India and surely it is a premier college of technology. This college is affiliated to Delhi University and comes under purview of Faculty of technology. This college was initially located at Kashmere Gate and was called Delhi Institute of Technology till the year 1997.

Till the previous the course and the syllabus of this college was same as the Delhi College of Engineering and that was prescribed by Faculty of Technology but now the NSIT is the only college under Delhi University and follow the same course structure. Initially there were only B.E. courses available in the college but now they have introduced M.Tech and Ph. D programs also. The college under the supervision of Faculty of Technology operates these programs independently. The education council of India always ranks NSIT as the best college of technology in terms of faculty, courses, research and placement wise.

The campus is huge and it is spread in the area of 145 acres, it has different blocks for different departments. Administrative and academic department are in different buildings and there are four hostels for girls and boys separate. There is a separate building and ground for indoors and outdoors sport like tennis, basketball, table tennis, cricket ground, volleyball and there is also a gymnasium for girls and boys. The government wants to make Delhi as the biggest hub of knowledge industry and this is the reason a project is started in which a Science and Technology park is to be open in Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology.

The college offers courses in B.E. initially but from the year 1997 they have also started the courses in M.Tech and Ph.D. NSIT and Delhi college of Engineering use to conduct a common entrance exam for the admission in undergraduate courses but since the Delhi college of engineering is changed to Delhi institute of technology, NSIT conducts a separate entrance exam under the supervision of Faculty of Technology, Delhi University. The college takes in the consideration the merit of CBSE and also the rank of AIEEE.

Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology also offers courses in post graduation and the specialized course is in Information technology, Electronics, Computer Science, and Signal Processing. The admission is through an entrance exam, which is called Graduate aptitude test in Engineering.

NSIT has different Schools, Divisions and Center of Excellence like School of Applied Sciences, School of Entrepreneurship. The divisions of the college are; Division of Biotechnology, Division of Instrumentation and control Engineering, Division of Information Technology, Division of Computer Engineering and the center of excellence is Center for Advanced IT.

The degree programs offered by Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology are Bachelor of Engineering and Master of Engineering. The specialization courses offered in undergraduate and post -graduate programs are Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics, Computer Engineering, Information Technology and Biotechnology.
